QR badges and gate scanning from any phone
Every attendee gets a QR badge by email. Your ushers scan it with the camera of any phone, in the browser, and see the verdict and the reason within a second.
From registration to the door
Register
People register on your event page, and pay with M-Pesa if the ticket has a price.
Badge
A QR badge arrives in their inbox, to show on a phone or print.
Scan
An usher points any phone at the QR. The reason is on screen: in, or why not.
Count
The same scan checks people in and out, and every scan is logged with the gate and who scanned.
The verdict takes a second. The line never stops.
Your ushers scan with the camera of any phone, in the browser, with no app to install. Green means in, with the name on screen. Red tells them exactly why not. Try it →
- Reasons, not just red: cancelled, not paid, already inside, or not registered with this organiser
- The same scan checks people in and out, so the headcount stays honest
- Every scan is logged with the gate it happened at and who scanned
Green and red are reserved for this moment — nowhere else in the brand.
A badge in every inbox. A phone at every gate.
This is the real badge page and the real scanner, with example people.
The badge and the scanner
Each person gets a QR badge by email, to show on a phone or print. At the door, the scanner shows the name, the ticket and the verdict, and keeps a list of recent scans.
A rule for every door, hall and booth
A place is anywhere a person can be scanned: an entrance, a hall, a stage, the restaurant, a booth, a shuttle bay. Each one has its own opening times and its own list of who may enter.
What to know before event day
Scanning needs a connection. Every scan is checked against the live list of registrations, so the phone must be able to reach our servers. The scanner can be added to the home screen and opens even when the signal is weak, but it never admits anyone by itself. If the signal drops it says so, keeps the scan, and sends it when the connection returns. The usher should hold that person until the scanner confirms. Offline scanning is not built.
If the camera cannot read a badge, the usher can type the badge code instead.
Exhibitors can have a booth place: the exhibitors list shows how many different people were scanned in there. Attendee names and contact details are not shared with exhibitors, and lead capture is not built.
Questions about badges and scanning
Do my ushers need to install an app?
No. The scanner opens in the phone's browser, from a link or a QR code for the place. They can add it to the home screen if they want to.
What does the usher see when someone is refused?
A red result with the reason, such as a cancelled registration, a payment not received, a badge already inside, a person not registered with this organiser, or a place or time that the badge does not allow.
Does scanning work without internet?
No. A verdict has to come from the server, so the phone needs a connection. When the signal drops, the scanner keeps the scan and sends it when the connection returns, and the usher holds the person until it confirms. Offline scanning is not built.
Do casual crew need staff accounts to scan?
No. A person from your crew pool can be given a gate pass: a link that opens the scanner on their phone for their shift and lets them scan and do nothing else. It stops working when their assignment ends or they are blocked.
Put a scanner on every door.
Create a workspace and build your event and its page straight away. We review new workspaces before they can publish or take payments, usually within one working day.
